High School Senior
Receives UCP of Central Minnesota Spirit Award

Ethan LightEthan Light, a senior at Becker High School, received the 2008 United Cerebral Palsy of Central Minnesota Spirit Award at the UCP annual dinner on October 20th. The Spirit Award, presented yearly to a person with cerebral palsy who resides within Sherburne, Benton or Stearns counties, honors an individual that demonstrates community volunteerism, leadership and the ability to meet and rise above the challenges of living with cerebral palsy with spirit and determination.

In presenting the award, 2007 Spirit Award recipient and UCP board member, Steve Feddema, acknowledged Ethan’s volunteer activities on the Senior Leadership team at Becker High School, Relay For Life, Sherburne County Fair and Wicht Farms.

Ethan accepted the award and gave an inspirational speech about the challenges of living with cerebral palsy and how hard he has worked to overcome obstacles in his way.

Ethan plans to attend college and pursue a degree in History.
