Thanks to the many golfers, sponsors, and contributors, the 4th annual UCP of Central Maryland Golf Classic raised almost $40,000 to benefit UCP of Central Maryland's core programs and services for children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
The day-long event offered the 77 golfers the opportunity to enjoy 18 holes of golf, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a seated dinner, a live auction, awards sponsored by Nike Golf, and a 50/50 raffle. One participant, Paul Wittemann, hit a hole in one for 178 yards and won $10,000!
Lauren Magee, UCP staff member, mentioned that though the biggest challenge was less participation than in previous years, the event was still very successful, thanks to the continued support of return golfers, volunteers and members of the UCP Golf Committee.
"We are extremely grateful to the tournament's participants, sponsors, and volunteers without whose support this event would not have been possible. The funds raised from this tournament will directly impact the lives of individuals with disabilities served by UCP of Central Maryland," said Diane Coughlin, President and CEO.
