Introducing Ask Lara!

Today, we begin a new Information & Referral series titled Ask Lara, where some of the most common I&R questions will be answered.

Q: What are the best practices for providing Information and Referral?


A: The Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) publishes I&R standards that are accepted as the "best practices" in the field of information and referral. AIRS provides training and credentialing for many I&R services across the Nation including the 2-1-1 helplines that have been established in most states. Standards provide reference points which define expected practices for I&R services and provide guidelines organizations can use when they develop an I&R program to meet the needs of the people they serve.

AIRS has just released their latest version of I&R Standards and it is available to the public free of charge. You can download the standards at:
